Learning Indonesian: Update 6

On Friday this week, about 250 hours later, I will have finished Assimil Indonesian. Although the course has served me well, I’m sick of the sight of it. That and Linguaphone bore me to death. It’s time for something new.

The only problem is that I can’t find anything to support my studies at the level that I’m at now. I can’t start on native material yet because it’s just too difficult, and sparse.

I’ve decided that Harry Potter is going to be my shining light for a couple of months. I’m going to devote an hour and a half each to reading it slowly, putting the majority of the sentences in my srs, and memorising the flash cards. It may not sound too thrilling but it can’t be more boring than going through Assimil or Linguaphone again.
