Twitter and Travel
Up until 3 days ago I had a twitter account that was as active as the Pope’s sex life. I had a few followers but I really wasn’t putting anything worthwhile into it. I didn’t really follow anyone other than a few friends and Ricky Gervais. When I say follow, I mean that they were registered as being followed by me but since I never went on Twitter it really didn’t count.
Clearly I’m a caveman. Rachel’s been saying that for ages, but that’s an observation based on appearance. I’m often slow to try new forms of social media. Once I join up to a new social media site and see all those new things with shiny buttons and stuff I don’t understand I switch off and think ‘Nah, it’ll never catch on’.
On Monday, with plenty of free-time desk warming, I gave myself some time to get to grips with Twitter. I’m delighted that I did. In a short space of time I’ve found some absolute gems in terms of travel blogs and photography blogs. I’ve spoken to people who before Monday I didn’t even know existed. And obviously it’s a great way to promote our site.
Next up, google+….
If you’re on twitter then feel free to add me to your list and say hello (Twitter ID: jimmymactwit). And we’d love it if you could like our new Facebook page
