From Koh Phangan to Koh Tao

Hi,
Rachel and I have moved on from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao. We really liked Koh Phangan. It was nothing more than party island. The beach was nice, the food was fine, and the various nights out were a good laugh. You could choose from foam parties on the beach, Half moon parties in the jungle, cross dressing pool parties (cross dressing optional apparently), and fire shows. We managed the half moon party and the fire shows but not the pool or foam parties sadly.
Half moon party

The half moon party was quite an experience. We were literally taken to a jungle (although only on the outskirts) where there was an out door bar and a dance floor surrounded by trees and psychadelic UV paintings. We had a good time.
You might be wandering if we put up with the squarking cockerel or if we killed it. We did neither. We moved accommodation. Our new place was about 10 pound a night so we were definitely going up in the world. For that we got a bungalow with all the basic amenities. We were finally able to sleep peacefully. What’s funny is that while having a couple of drinks on our porch we got chatting to a couple of lads who happened to be from Newcastle as well. Not only did we share the same tattooist back home but one of them grew up playing football with one of my cousins. We ended up spending a few hours with them at the half moon party. After the party we got shoved into one of the songthaew taxis again with about 8 other people. There was quite literally people hanging off the back off it. We were drunk so it was fairly amusing, especially when they started singing goldfinger.
We got the ferry to Koh Tao this afternoon. We’re staying in a resort called AC resort. Again we’re in a bugalow but this time we’re really living it up. The resort, and in fact every part of Koh Tao we’ve seen, is amazing. Not only do we have hot water (well warm really) but we’ve got a bloody swimming pool! The resort is right on the beach and you can eat at the restaurant which is overlooking the stupidly clear sea. And to top it off, just next door there’s a bar called ‘the cave bar’. It looks, inside and out, exactly like the flinstone household. It’s class!
One last thing, some people have emailed us saying they haven’t been able to leave comments on the blog. I made some changes so now, if you just write what you want in the space provided then choose the ‘name/URL’ option and just write your name in the space provided. Then press ‘post comment’ that should do.
If it doesn’t work just drop me an email.
Hasta Luego.
